TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF:
My name is Katie Bidwell and I’m a pharmacy technician for Sona Access at Sona Pharmacy. I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. I attended college at The University of Georgia and received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. I moved to Asheville about five years ago.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE PHARMACY:
I was attracted to pharmacy because it gives me a chance to work in healthcare and care for patients in many ways. I love being a part of Sona pharmacy because I believe that medications are vital to patient longevity and am passionate about patient care!
HOW CAN SONA ACCESS HELP PATIENTS AND CAREGIVERS:
Sona Access gives patients and caregivers the ability to relax and know that all of their medication needs are being taken care of by our team. Sona Access is unique in that it allows us to take care of our patients in a very hands-on way. We offer monthly pill packs and check in with each and every patient, every month to make sure their needs are being met. My favorite part of Sona Access is how closely we know our patients! They’re a part of the Sona family and we care deeply for them. I’m passionate about providing excellent customer service and want to ensure that their needs are being met daily.
SKILLS:
I have a background in behavioral health and I have always enjoyed helping and caring for patients. Sona Access has allowed me to work closely with patients and offer a higher level of service to maximize health outcomes for all patients.
FUN FACT:
I love sports. I mean, everything about sports, especially Georgia Football! In high school, I played sports year-round, from basketball, soccer, track, and field, to cross country. My favorite memory was my Senior year when we won the state championship in volleyball.
HOBBIES:
I enjoy doing anything outside! You can find me trail running at Bent Creek or rock climbing.
