Tell us about yourself:
I was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois aka the Land of Lincoln. I attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville for 2 years to complete pharmacy prerequisites and then attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Pharmacy and graduated in May 2020.
What is your passion within pharmacy?
Advocating for patients is one of my passions within pharmacy. The medical field can be daunting with big words and jargon that is difficult to understand, making it hard for patients to get a grasp of different conditions and especially medications. I think it is so important for patients to understand their medications as best as possible and how they are working for them. This passion also translates to an area I enjoy, which is Specialty Pharmacy, and helping connect patients with medications and copay assistance.
What made you choose Sona?
Sona Pharmacy is unmatched. After only a few weeks here as the newest resident, I am beginning to grasp all the various services offered to patients, but no matter what, the patient always comes first. After working at a chain pharmacy for the past 4 years, I can definitively say Sona offers unparalleled devotion to patients.
What makes your personal skill set unique to help patients?
I love to chat and build relationships with patients. A pharmacy is more than a place to pick up your medications, whether it be once per month or when you’re sick. A pharmacy is a place where you can form meaningful connections with pharmacists who truly care about helping you be the best and healthiest version of yourself.
What is a fun fact about you?
I spent a month in southern India this past fall as a learning experience during pharmacy school. It was rewarding to learn about healthcare in another country, but it was super cool to live there and experience the culture firsthand.
Outside of the pharmacy, what are your hobbies?
I love to cook and try new recipes! I also love traveling and exploring new places and things and spending time outdoors. I can’t wait for more business and attractions to open up in Asheville so I can enjoy all you have to offer!
Finally, what should patients remember about your blog post?
I am here to help you to the best of my ability, and I am so grateful to be part of this supportive and energetic team that provides excellent, personalized patient care. Feel free to say hi the next time you’re in–I’m looking forward to meeting you!
