The Sona Guide to CBD Products

By Scott Henson | September 10, 2018

What is CBD?

CBD is the abbreviation for “cannabidiol”, a non-psychoactive component of the hemp plant.

CBD is considered by a growing number of health professionals to be useful in addressing a variety of health concerns, especially those related to inflammatory and neurological conditions.

An expanding body of anecdotal evidence indicates that many people believe CBD to be beneficial in dealing with problems like arthritis, sciatica, anxiety, migraines, and insomnia, to name a few.

What CBD Products Can I Trust?

As interest in CBD continues to grow, customers are asking more questions about the different types of products.

I am pleased to say that Sona is committed to keeping a diverse inventory of products from several trusted sources.

The product lines we stock at Sona have earned our confidence that the CBD content is of high quality, consistent with package labeling, and free from adulteration with harmful contaminants.

Whenever possible, we prefer to stock products that are Non-GMO, gluten-free, and vegetarian friendly.

We currently stock a variety of products from Charlotte’s Web, Medterra, Palmetto Harmony, Green Remedy, and Carolina Hemp Company. As we continue to evaluate product sources it is likely that we will continue to expand our product lines.

What CBD Products are Available at Sona?

  1. Oils for oral administration
  2. Capsules
  3. Topical creams and ointments
  4. Vape oils
  5. Pet products

The oral liquids allow for the greatest dosing flexibility, especially when adjustments are necessary to optimize your regimen.

Capsules provide consistency and affordability for those on an established dose.

The topical products are considered particularly useful for localized issues.

As you can imagine, these dosage forms come in a variety of concentrations, flavors, aromas, package sizes, and cover a fairly broad spectrum of pricing.

We intentionally stock a range of products that will allow new CBD users the opportunity to purchase on a smaller scale. We also maintain larger pack sizes to allow customers on consistent regimens to buy larger quantities for a better value per unit.

We will be happy to special order additional products by request from vendors with whom we have an established relationship. Our goal is to provide enough variety to allow our customers flexibility in choosing a CBD product that most closely meets their individual needs.

How Can We Help?

The process of choosing a product can be daunting for first time CBD users, so I want to assure you that our pharmacists will be happy to help you navigate all of the choices.

When you come through the doors at Sona, you will notice that we prioritize having a pharmacist available, up front at the concierge desk, to assist you in any way possible. This is a core principle of practice for our pharmacists, and we really enjoy engaging with you about your health and wellness.

If you are interested in the potential benefits of CBD and want to learn more, or if you need help choosing the right product, please ask one of our pharmacists. We would love to help!
