Tell us a little about yourself.
Hi, my name is Emily Ward! I am 22 years old and was born and raised in Asheville, NC.
I graduated from Owen High School, and am currently completing my Bachelor’s of Business Management degree online through Southern New Hampshire University.
I have worked for Sona Pharmacy + Clinic for about a year and 9 months. When I’m not working, I am usually hanging out with family and friends. I enjoy doing just about anything outside when our crazy NC weather finally warms up!
What are your responsibilities at Sona?
My responsibilities at Sona are first and foremost making sure that each of our patients has the best Sona experience they can have.
I also help with prescriptions when needed, make posts for our company Instagram account, and help find local companies to highlight in our local section of the Pharmacy.
You can find me just about anywhere in the pharmacy trying to help out!
How is the Sona experience different than other pharmacies?
Sona is extremely different than other pharmacies. I feel like at other pharmacies you aren’t treated like a person, you are treated as a number.
At Sona, we want all of our patients to know that we honestly care about each of them. We greet almost all of our patients by name as soon as they walk in, and care for them just as if they are a member of our family.
What motivates you to serve patients each day?
I have always loved being able to help people!
Whether that means helping patients get their prescriptions filled, or finding an over the counter item they’ve been looking to purchase, I love it all.
If I can lend a helping hand to our patients, or make them smile before they leave our pharmacy, then I know I did my job.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
I love my job for so many different reasons; but, if I had to narrow it down I would say my favorite part is the people.
I love getting to see and talk with all of our regular patients, as well as get to know new ones. It’s not just the patients that make me love my job, it’s the people I work with as well.
The people at Sona are like family, and make work fun every single day.
