Tell us a little about yourself!
I am a native of Manning, SC and graduated from Clemson University…GOOOOOO TIGERS!!
I received my pharmacy degree from South Carolina College of Pharmacy in Columbia, and completed my community pharmacy residency with UNC/Moose Pharmacy.
I am the youngest of 3 children, and I am a VERY proud uncle and Godfather.
What is your passion within pharmacy?
My passion has always been helping and connecting with patients.
Many people engage with pharmacists with the intent of getting well or maintaining their health, and it is my personal mission to uplift them in the process.
I also enjoy mentoring students. I feel really good when I can help them accomplish their own goals.
What is your role at Sona Specialty?
My role is Director of Specialty Pharmacy, and it is really an honor to be here.
The bar has been set high by the previous director and other team members, so I am excited to carry on the torch. My goal is to continue to make Sona Specialty a place patients trust to get the best care, and a place they look forward to interacting with time and time again.
What makes your personal skill set unique to help patients?
I have a tendency to add comedy to most situations. There is absolutely nothing like putting a smile on a patient’s face or laughing with them hysterically on the phone.
Oftentimes my aim is to tell the jokes, but by the time I’m done, many of my patients become the comedians and flip the humor right back at me! Laughter is truly the best medicine in my opinion.
What is a fun fact about you?
I graduated from “Comedy Class” last year in Charlotte and find stand up comedy and improv to be very fun and therapeutic.
I spent an entire month in Hawaii for a pharmacy school rotation and had the time of my life!
I’m known to cut a rug on the dance floor, so invite me to your birthday party or event, get the music started, and watch me move!
Outside of the pharmacy, what are your hobbies?
I enjoy traveling, going to concerts, trying out new restaurants and cuisine, and spending time with my family and friends. I’m also trying to be more physically active, so I look forward to hiking the trails on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Finally, what should patients remember about your blog post?
Above all, I am here to serve and help in any way possible. For all your specialty pharmacy needs, remember Sona Specialty Pharmacy has you covered!
