For some people, finances and numbers are a hassle of everyday life. For others, numbers have the ability to tell some fascinating stories:
Tell us a little about yourself!
My name is Ryan, and I am a Liberty University alumni. I am the newest member of the Sona / Blue Ridge Rx accounting department. I live in Arden with my wife, Martha, and our dog, Emmitt, and cat, Milo.
In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my wife. Some of our favorite activities include hiking, white water rafting, and playing with our dog. I also enjoy trying new foods and drinks, and hanging out with friends.
What are your responsibilities at Sona/Blue Ridge Rx?
I handle the accounts payable, oversee collections, and evaluate newly admitted patients into our long term care facilities.
What makes your job rewarding?
I enjoy managing cash flow because it so critical for an organization, and it gives me a good sense of accomplishment.
I also enjoy helping our patients get the most out of our services by ensuring that they are getting the proper coverage from their insurance. By doing so, we are able to help provide our patients with the best care possible.
You’ve had the opportunity to live all over the world. what is your favorite thing about Asheville?
I really enjoy the mountains, and all that they have to offer. There are always new trails to hike year round, and the leaves are breathtaking in the fall.
Aside from the mountain views, Asheville has so many great restaurants, and culture to experience.
Some people say numbers are boring. what do you say to those people?
I understand that some people feel that way, but I am a numbers kind of guy!
