Tell us a little about yourself!
Hi! My name is Amanda Finch, and I am the lead technician at Sona Pharmacy. I have been with the company for nearly 5 years, but have worked in retail pharmacy since I was 16 years old.
I was born and raised here in the Henderson County area. I am married to the most amazing man, Michael. We have two daughters, Amber and Bailey, and a granddaughter, Jaylynn.
When I’m not working in the pharmacy, my favorite thing to do is spend time with my husband. We enjoy hunting, especially during deer and turkey season.
When the hunting season is over, you can find me participating in archery tournaments, fishing, grilling out with friends, and playing outside with our dog, Phoenix.
What does your typical day at Sona entail?
My days at Sona can get crazy! My responsibilities include answering customer phone calls, helping with prescriptions, researching and answering customer questions, and ensuring things run as smooth as possible throughout the course of the day.
What drives you to do what you do?
I try my hardest to go above and beyond for our customers.
I want them to feel at home when they come to Sona, and truly feel like they are a part of our family. Over the years, I have learned our customers’ names, and even some birthdays and anniversaries.
My goal is to talk to each customer, no matter how busy the day gets. Even if it is just a “hello, how are you today?” or “how’s the family”, customer interaction is the most important thing at Sona.
How is Sona different from any other pharmacies?
Sona is very different than chain pharmacies.
The Sona staff meet and greet each customer at the door, even if it is to walk them over to the clinic. We stock a number of local products so our customers can choose to support local businesses if they would like. We offer complimentary coffee, water, snacks, and a comfy seating area so our customers always feel at home.
Sona also offers free delivery to all of our patients, and that’s not found at chain pharmacies.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
Each day holds a different surprise at Sona. There is never a dull moment at work, and my Sona family helps make sure of that. The Sona staff likes to have fun at work, and our customers are always at the center of what we do!
