Building your healthcare team can seem challenging, but with caring individuals like Candyce, it becomes a little easier:
Tell us a little about yourself!
Hi, my name is Candyce Edwards, and I am the lead technician of the Sona Access Program!
I was born and raised here in Asheville, NC. I love this area so much, and am proud to call it home.
After graduating from college, I spent 8 months traveling throughout Europe. I lived and worked in Spain for almost 6 months teaching English.
Outside of work, I am very interested in filmmaking and have competed in a few film festivals. I spend a lot of my free time watching movies, hiking, reading, or writing.
What are your responsibilities at Sona?
I am the lead technician of the Sona Access Program.
The Access team helps patients transition home from skilled nursing facilities and hospitals. We also serve patients in the community who need a little extra assistance managing their medication routines.
What drives you to do what you do?
I really enjoy getting to know our patients, and being able to help them stay home and live their best lives. Medication management can be a huge burden for patients and caregivers, so I am happy we can serve as their support system.
I also work with a great team at Sona that is dedicated to serving our patients, day in and day out.
How does the Sona Access program make a difference in people’s lives?
Sona Access helps patients be more adherent with their medications, which results in helping people be healthier and happier.
Our goal is to help patients easily transition home, and stay out of the hospital. We hope that our care calls, adherence packaging, and free delivery make our patients’ lives just a little easier.
What is your favorite thing about Sona?
My favorite thing about Sona is the amazing team that I have the privilege of working with everyday! Everyone here is truly dedicated to improving the health and happiness of our patients.
