What do you do at Sona Pharmacy + Clinic?
Hi! My name is Marybeth Isley and I am one of the pharmacists at Sona Pharmacy + Clinic.
I am in the store nearly every day during the week, which allows me to get to know my patients, their families, and even their pets!
I love working at the concierge desk where I can talk to everyone who walks in. I also enjoy filling prescriptions and working with our Sona Access team to prepare patient pill packs.
If you come in Sona one night when I’m here until 8 pm, you will find Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy on the TV. Feel free to sit down and play!
What is your passion within pharmacy?
I am very passionate about customer service and local business. I have a business degree from the University of Georgia in addition to my Pharm.D..
Sona is the perfect place to combine assisting patients with their pharmaceutical and over-the-counter needs, providing excellent customer service, and efficiently and effectively running a business.
Because these ideas are valued by everyone at Sona, I never feel pressured to sacrifice one skill set in favor of another.
What makes your personal skill set unique to help patients?
I have been told that I am easy to talk to and always have a smile on my face.
Whether you would like to chat about your prescription, or just life in general, building relationships is something I really enjoy!
What is a fun fact about you?
I have a few fun facts!
When I was younger, I did an internship at Walt Disney World. One day, I was hanging out with Tigger and Pooh and got to serve food to Tina Fey.
Tigger asked me if he could go dance with Mrs. Fey, and I gave him permission. They ended up going on a mini parade around the restaurant (much to the delight of the kids in the restaurant)!
My second fun fact is that when I was little I rescued about 25 baby sea turtles from a sand dune. The turtles were following the lights of a high-rise rather than the moon’s reflection on the ocean.
Outside of the pharmacy, what are your hobbies?
In my free time I like to sew, hang out with my dogs, listen to live music, and spend time enjoying everything Asheville has to offer.
Finally, what should patients remember about your blog post?
I want my patients to remember that choosing a pharmacy is a personal decision, and I am so excited they have chosen Sona!
It is my goal to make sure patients feel taken care of and important.
If they are seeking a personalized approach to their pharmacy services, I believe we are the best pharmacy for them in Western North Carolina! (or all of North Carolina! or the USA! or the World, for that matter!)
