The robot’s speciality is filling personalized 7 day pill packs with efficiency and accuracy.
The robot is synced to our pharmacy’s management system, and has an automated process of preparing the packs using multiple checkpoints and sensors to ensure accuracy.
Quick Robot Facts:
- – 5x increase in production speed means patients will get their medications quicker
- – Barcode scanner and detection sensors for quality control
- – Manages inventory and checks expiration dates on all drugs for patient safety
Once the process is complete, a Sona pharmacist checks every pill pack to ensure accuracy.
What Are 7 Day Pill packs?
A 7 day pill pack is a type of packaging that help patients keep track of when they need to take their medications.
This packaging option is one of the most effective ways to help patients adhere to their drug regimens.
97% of patients with this packaging completely adhere to drug regimens (compared to only 61.2% of patients without it).
Each pack has a patient photo, along with information on the drug, and when to take each pill. The new robot will help us get these personalized packages to our patients quickly!
